Position Summary The IT & Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the company’s IT systems while also supporting technical and facility-related tasks, including surveillance camera installation and troubleshooting. This position requires a hands-on, solutions-oriented individual who can manage both standard IT support functions and basic technical maintenance. Scope The IT & Technical Support Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all technical systems that support the company’s operations. This includes overseeing system connectivity, managing user access and permissions, supporting audiovisual infrastructure, and contributing to the physical setup and maintenance of IT-related assets across departments. The role also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement system improvements, support internal audits, and maintain compliance with data security standards. Job Responsibility Deliver comprehensive day-to-day IT support for all end-user hardware, software applications, peripheral devices, and internal network operations, ensuring minimal disruption to business continuity. Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, security cameras, and related surveillance infrastructure; conduct periodic audits to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to company security standards. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve: technical malfunctions across a variety of IT systems, coordinating cross-departmentally to mitigate downtime and address recurring issues through root cause analysis.
Deploy and provision:
new workstations, including installation of operating systems, software imaging, phone systems, monitors, low-voltage cabling, and ergonomic setup tailored to department specifications.
Manage and track:
IT inventory, including hardware assets, software licenses, tools, and consumables, ensuring timely procurement, allocation, and lifecycle management.
Support data protection initiatives:
including executing and verifying backup routines, recovery testing, and secure data restoration protocols in line with business continuity plans. Assist in the enforcement and implementationof company-wide cybersecurity protocols, including user access control, endpoint protection, and adherence to internal data security policies. Accurately document all system changes, technical incidents, and resolutions using a formal ticketing and change management platform to support transparency, compliance, and operational tracking. Coordinate with third-party vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues, implementation of upgrades, and alignment with service-level agreements (SLAs). Execute additional technical support duties and physical infrastructure maintenance tasks as directed by management, including minor repairs, relocations, installations, or project-based initiatives. Other assigned duties Key Requirements On-site presence required: Must be available to work in person at designated facility to provide immediate support for technical systems and infrastructure.
Multi-site support capability:
Willing and able to travel between multiple company locations across the region to troubleshoot, install, or maintain IT and security equipment as needed.
Adaptability to diverse environments:
Comfortable working in laboratory, clinical, administrative, and mechanical settings, while adhering to appropriate safety, hygiene, and technical standards.
Physical stamina and technical agility:
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, handling power tools, running cables, and performing other physically demanding tasks with precision and safety.
Responsive and flexible availability:
Able to respond to critical IT issues or infrastructure-related emergencies outside of standard business hours when necessary, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Compliance awareness:
Willing to follow company protocols related to HIPAA, data privacy, and safety requirements, especially in regulated laboratory environments. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation: Required for inter-office mobility and urgent response needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or related hands-on technical role. Experience with camera/security systems, installation tools, and low-voltage wiring. Bilingual Communication – Fluent in both English and Spanish; able to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
