Job Description

IT Support Specialist 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Saint Petersburg, FL 33733 Work days and schedule: Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7am to 7pm and Fridays 7am to 5pm rotating department coverage with unpaid lunch. Individual and department schedule to be provided monthly. On-call department rotation required.

Roosevelt Ave, Clearwater FL Education/Experience:

Technology related degree or industry recognized certifications and a minimum of two years experience performing end user support and network support in a corporate IT Help Desk environment; or a minimum of 4 years’ experience performing end user support and network support in a corporate IT Help Desk environment. Windows workstation and server operating systems; network infrastructure; configuration and repair of hardware; installation and configuration of software; support of end users in a corporate environment

Working Conditions:

Multiple Office locations, mostly indoors, this is not a work from home position. Ability to regularly move/carry/lift//load/unload heavy computer equipment. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. IT Support Specialists may be required to sit or stand during the shift, and bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, or lift moderately heavy items (up to 40 lbs. without assistance) in a recurring manner or for long periods of time as needed.

Driving Requirements :

Valid driver’s license with agency required levels of automobile insurance and valid registration. Able to drive own vehicle to various locations as needed, travel mileage will be reimbursed. Acceptable required driving record.

Other:

Must be comfortable working with staff at all levels. Able to present information to large groups as needed.

Job Duties :

Quickly respond to live calls and trouble tickets for assistance in a friendly, professional manner Remotely connect to end users’ computer equipment to provide support and troubleshooting. Install/configure/maintain/upgrade PC workstations in a network environment. Install/configure/maintain/upgrade PC operating systems (Windows Server, Windows workstations) and software applications on workstations. Configure, deploy, provide training and troubleshooting of mobile devices, cell phones, tablets, hot spot devices, etc. Install/configure/maintain/upgrade various servers if and when assigned this task. Configure and monitor routine backups of servers. Add, change, delete user accounts in Active Directory and in other applications based upon named users. Ensure permissions are set to provide access on an as needed basis. Install and terminate network cabling. Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity problems. Add, change, delete users and phone extensions in the agency phone systems. Install and maintain printers and multi-function devices in a network environment. Promptly and professionally respond to requests for technical assistance from end users to resolve connectivity problems, printer problems, hardware problems, software problems, and other technical issues. Provide instruction to end users on procedures, practices, and usage of software applications and computer hardware as needed. Maintain accurate inventory and records of services requested and provided. Effectively communicate to customers the status of work being done on their behalf. Must exhibit a friendly presence and helpful attitude. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with the Information Services team and all levels of employees and managers. Must be responsible and work with minimal direction. Assists in accomplishing unit goals and objectives. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age. Must have a negative drug screening prior to hire and throughout employment. Must pass a Criminal Background Check, local checks, and DCF Level II Background Screening prior to hire and annually. Must have valid Florida Driver’s License and pass motor vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance. (must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).
