They provide primary physical support for hardware and software systems related to conveyor required for warehouse operations. Support for conveyor and sorter systems includes programmable logic controllers (PLC), scanners, scales, photo eyes, and printers. Support of warehouse computer desktop software and hardware required to run the applications that control and support the conveyor operations. Support of Microsoft Windows and IBM iSeries printing related to print and apply systems for box labeling. They are responsible for troubleshooting, problem reporting, prioritizing tasks and follow-up through problem resolution. They are responsible for addressing warehouse personnel issues with these systems and effecting solutions. They are expected to maintain documentation for installation, troubleshooting and training to be used by warehouse personnel. They are expected to function as warehouse conveyor system experts for operations personnel, IT and the facilities maintenance team.
Education:
Associate’s degree and/or 2 years experience in Electronics and/or
Computer Systems Experience:
Knowledge of PLC controls and conveyor system electronics. Knowledge and experience installing computer operating systems and applications. Knowledge and experience working with computer hardware including printers and mobile devices. Knowledge of network technologies including switch configuration. Knowledge of writing scripts and programming. Ability to communicate with all levels of users, co-workers and vendors in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and follow up on multiple projects. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to function as a team player. Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience a plus. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities May supervise less experienced technicians or floor users on projects. May supervise vendors on projects.
