Position Summary
The Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for greeting patients, checking and if necessary obtaining orders, verifying medical necessity,obtaining signatures for ABN’s and dropping correct orders per modality. The Imaging Support Specialists answers phone calls, faxes reports and performs other clerical duties necessary for departmental support. The Imaging Support Specialist burns and distributes CD’s to the patients. The Imaging Support Specialist is one of the supportive components for driving communication throughout Imaging Services. Maintains open communications and is available to assist internal and external customers.
Education
High School Diploma

• Preferred
  Experience
  1 Year Medical
• Preferred
  Excellent customer service skills.
  License & Certification
  Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Required
  Core Job Functions
  Obtains/verifies orders from Physician offices.

Verifies that the appropriate diagnosis is on orders. Places/scans orders in computer system for Imaging.
Demonstrates skill in dealing diplomatically with physicians, management, clinical staff, patients and the public under stressful conditions. Acts decisively and immediately while remaining calm and alert in crucial situations. Utilizes good judgment in answering questions of callers according to established policies.
Oversees Report Faxing System. Passes patient information to the appropriate person.
Supplies are used in a cost effective manner.
