Technology Administrator & Support Specialist 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 6675 E Highway 16, Senoia, GA 30276 Job Summary Coweta Charter Academy is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and relationship-focused individual to serve as both the Technology Administrator and Technology Support Specialist. This hybrid role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all aspects of the school’s digital infrastructure while also delivering daily frontline support to students and staff. This includes systems administration, instructional technology integration, event support, compliance, vendor coordination, training, and student mentorship. The ideal candidate is equal parts tech wizard, educator, project manager, and people person. Duties Systems Administration & Technical Support Administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments, including DNS configuration, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), permissions, compliance monitoring, and user lifecycle management.
Instructional Technology & Learning Platforms Administer Canvas LMS:
account provisioning, observer pairing, grade sync, external tool integrations (Gallopade, WriteScore, etc.).
Support teachers with Canvas setup:
assignments, communication tools, announcements, and gradebook use. Deliver L1 and L2 support for Canvas, Clever SSO, WriteScore, and other platforms. Coordinate teacher onboarding and training for all platforms. Provide ongoing tech coaching to staff to simplify workflows and enhance instruction. Develop guides, videos, and presentations for student, staff, and parent use. Student Engagement & Leadership Launch and mentor a Colts Geek Squad (3-4 student members) to assist with basic IT tasks and support. Promote student interest in esports, coding clubs, robotics, and digital content creation. Organize school-wide technology events such as Hour of Code and digital learning showcases. Inspire leadership and problem-solving skills through tech-focused student activities. Security & Compliance Monitor and enforce FERPA, COPPA, and local tech policies across all platforms. Manage data access permissions and app integrations to protect student and staff data. Perform regular audits of access controls and system usage. Investigate incidents flagged by monitoring tools (e.g., Securly), document findings, and coordinate corrective actions. Project Management & Vendor Coordination Liaise with over 30 third-party vendors for contracts, integrations, troubleshooting, and license management. Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and workflows. Submit GA DOE technology-related reports and ensure compliance with state/district requirements. Contribute to annual technology budgeting and strategic planning. Communication & School Collaboration Draft and distribute clear communications regarding system outages, security alerts, or technology updates. Advise school leadership on instructional technology practices, needs, and future planning. Represent technology in leadership discussions, aligning efforts with school goals. Supervision & Leadership Supervise one technology staff member. Provide professional development and complete TKES evaluations per state guidelines. Event & Emergency Support Assist with setup and technical needs for school events and meetings. Be available to respond to urgent issues before/during/after school hours as needed. Manage email routing, delivery troubleshooting, and Vault searches. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 tech support for all stakeholders: hardware, software, network, account access, and classroom peripherals. Configure and maintain Chromebooks, Windows laptops, Smart Boards, printers, and other instructional devices.
Maintain the Securly filtering system:
monitor flagged activity, adjust allow/block lists, manage grade-level policies, generate usage reports. Document and resolve technical issues; manage device inventory, repairs, replacements, and end-of-year processes. Assist with onboarding of staff and ensuring access to all systems. Requirements Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, EdTech, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years managing Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 systems. Strong troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and networking. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications K-12 educational technology experience. Familiarity with Infinite Campus, Clever, Canvas LMS, and their integrations. Knowledge of DNS configuration, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and email delivery best practices. Basic JavaScript and/or Google Apps Script for automation. Bonus Points For Experience leading student tech programs, coding/robotics clubs, or esports teams. Foundational certification or support experience in: Google Workspace, Canvas LMS, Microsoft Office, Clever, Securly. Interest in developing creative and engaging tech training. Working Conditions Full-time, 12-month in-office role. Availability for evening/weekend events and emergencies. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move across classrooms/offices.
