JOB PURPOSE
The IT Systems Engineer will possess expertise in both Level 2 and Level 3 support, specializing in end-user desktop deployments, desktop applications, Active Directory, Entra, and Office 365. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
As a Level 2/Level 3 IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing desktop deployments, including setup, configuration, and installation of hardware and software for end-users. You will provide advanced desktop application support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal performance. Additionally, you will administer and maintain Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and security settings, as well as implement and manage Entra solutions to enhance security and streamline identity management.
Your role will also involve overseeing the administration of Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and other related services. You will assist end-users with technical issues related to desktop environments, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals. Handling escalated service desk tickets, performing advanced troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues will be part of your daily responsibilities.
You will monitor and analyze system performance, ensuring optimal operation and identifying potential issues. It is crucial to maintain detailed and accurate documentation of support activities, system configurations, solutions, and user interactions in the service desk system. Collaboration with Level 1 support agents, IT teams, and other departments to ensure timely issue resolution and effective communication is essential.
Providing training and guidance to end-users on best practices for using desktop applications and maintaining their systems will be part of your role. Implementing and enforcing security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards is a key responsibility. You will assess currently deployed hardware and software to determine if the systems are configured and deployed using generally accepted best practices in terms of configuration and security.
Continuous improvement is vital, and you will participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements to enhance system performance and security.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated:
Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.
Work Location:
California, USA Travel within the USA and Canada when on assignment
Education/Training:
Associate degree or higher or equivalent qualifications.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in IT systems engineering or administration (Level 2/3 support).
