Role Overview:
The On-Site IT Specialist at Alum-a-Lift is responsible for the effective deployment, maintenance, and support of IT hardware and infrastructure. This role involves direct interaction with employees, managing network and server infrastructure, collaborating with Piab Global IT, and ensuring adherence to global standards within the Piab Group. Strong technical proficiency in Veeam backup management, NAS Synology, server maintenance, and a commitment to cybersecurity compliance are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Deployment & Maintenance:
Set up and configure workstations, printers, and network devices. Perform regular maintenance and updates. Troubleshoot and repair hardware to minimize downtime.
Onboarding & Training:
Assist new employees with IT setup. Provide initial training on IT systems and tools. Offer in-person support for IT-related queries.
Network & Infrastructure Support:
Conduct on-site network troubleshooting. Maintain network devices, including routers and switches. Manage server rooms and monitor environmental conditions.
Incident Response & Compliance Audits:
Perform security checks and compliance audits. Assist in IT disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
Collaboration and Standards:
Collaborate with Global Digital and Information Services (GDIS) and IT Operations teams. Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects. Stay updated on best practices and standards.
Technical Competencies:
Veeam Backup Management:
Manage and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication. Ensure regular backups and test recovery processes.
NAS Synology Management:
Configure and manage Synology NAS systems. Implement best practices for data management.
Server Maintenance:
Perform regular server maintenance tasks. Ensure server reliability and security.
Compliance and Security:
Demonstrate willingness to learn and maintain compliance with CMMC Level 1. Align IT practices with DFARS 252.204-7012 and
NIST SP 800-17XX
guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in IT hardware deployment and maintenance. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with network and server management. Expertise in Veeam backup management, NAS Synology, and server maintenance. Familiarity with compliance standards and disaster recovery planning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
