JOB SUMMARY

The Computer Support Specialist, under the supervision and direction of the Management Information System (MIS) Director, performs routine duties to install, maintain, update, and repair computer hardware and software. Provides computer helpdesk support, troubleshooting, training to end users and assisting with server administration.

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIESEssential FunctionsProvides technical helpdesk support to users by researching, answering questions, training, troubleshooting problems, installing, and maintaining workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, desk phones, and mobile devices

  • Gathering and analyzing data to diagnose problems with computer systems
  • Handling helpdesk tickets and requests to troubleshoot the nature of reported problems and taking necessary steps to resolve those problems in a timely manner
  • Log all service requests and update helpdesk tickets as needed
  • Provide technical support in person, over the phone, email, or via remote access
  • Assist with setup, configure, and prepare individual desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices for users
  • Provide ongoing training to users on hardware and software
  • Conducting software analysis and provide application support to end users for all software systems
  • Maintains computer equipment inventory tracking system
  • Assists with agency VOIP telephone system
  • Assist with setup and maintain mobile devices for users, including inventory tracking and Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP
  • Unbox, stage and inventory incoming equipment to be installed and configured for new users or as replacement equipment for existing users
  • Assist with ordering and pricing new computer equipment
  • Collaborate with Information Technology staff, department directors/managers and end users to develop technical solutions to complex problems which would benefit agency wide goals and productivity
  • Work closely with department directors/managers to schedule trainings, webinars and seminars while providing proper equipment and software for calendar events
  • Participate in network technology upgrades or expansion projects installation of hardware and software
  • Assists with cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards supporting IT are adhered to without adverse effect to computer environments or to business operations
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times to ensure privacy of client records, personnel, and business objectives, maintaining confidentiality in all work-related areas
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Management Information System Director.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Degree in Computer Support Specialist, Information Technology, or Certification with equivalent work experience in an IT environment
  • Degree or Certification preferredExperience
  • Two years experience in Computer Support, Information Technology, Helpdesk Support, or related fieldSkills
  • High-level knowledge of commonly used software, hardware, and applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Windows environments, VoIP, and Networking
  • Strong oral communication skills to gather information from employees and explain complex technical concepts in simple language
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to create useful support logs
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
  • Time management skills to provide updates and fixes within a promised time frame
