Position Summary The Information Technology Specialist (ITS) will provide technical support and management of both hardware and software in the IT Department at George Walton Academy. This role will support and assist students and staff with all technical requests. The Information Technology Specialist will report to the Director of Information Technology. This is a 12-month position to start as soon as possible. Primary Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users Install and configure software applications and updates Work on ticketing system to update, escalate and resolve tickets Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, GoogleO365 Provide technical support in classrooms campus-wide Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including switches and routers Test, deploy, and implement new wireless access points Collaborate with IT team to implement new technologies and systems Maintain security best practices with access to systems Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of faculty, staff, and students Update inventory of hardware and software assets Configure and troubleshoot new and existing network hardware Maintenance of computer hardware and software as needed Coordinate vendor related support for surveillance and access control Create and update technical documentation and diagrams Perform other duties assigned Requirements and Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree and/or Technical Certifications or equivalent experience Solid technical acumen and ability to attain new technical proficiencies Knowledge and general understanding of Office 365 Experience with Google Admin administration (Google Certifications preferred) Familiarity with School Information Systems (Renweb) Considerable knowledge of current and emerging technologies and new practices Knowledge and experience with the use of PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPads, Smartboards, interactive touchscreen TVs, document cameras, projectors as well as a wide variety of digital resources, tools, and instructional software Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar tools and share the information with a diverse group of people Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to troubleshoot and remediate equipment issues in coordination Ability to instruct and work collaboratively with administration, teachers, students, and parents Personal qualities sought: Integrity, analytical thinker, ability to multi-task, problem solver, flexible, creative, patient, a life-long learner who seeks to remain current through continuing education and professional development
