Job description In support of our client, a large metals manufacturer for the oiland gas industry, we are seeking an experienced Level II DesktopSupport Technician located in Shreveport, LA. This is a contract,consulting opportunity.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Level II Desktop Support Technician is responsible foranalyzing and evaluating software requirements and creating testplans and test cases for validation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This professional executes test cases, writes defect reports, andparticipates in the execution of automated test cases whereappropriate. Perform automated performance and latency analysis identifying rootcauses. Write unit and automated test for high availability and highlyscalable applications which will be used by both internal andexternal customers. Design & develop test scenarios that accurately gauge productquality. Solve incidents, requests, or change requests transferred from thecentral Helpdesk, prioritizing the activities in line with thedefinitions made by the Information Technology department. Make proposals to higher support levels for changes, corrections,and updates to documents, adding experience gathered throughproblem solving. Develop a plan of continuous improvement for service, enabling thepossibility to improve the result to end users, and reducingcosts. Provide local, on-site support to our client supporting users. Check with managers to ensure service levels are reached and set upa plan to solve issues that may occur and will provide preventivesupport on user equipment based on standard procedures. Fulfill procedures tending to generate metrics to allow serviceevaluation, control and manage IT inventory (Asset Management) inaccordance with procedures, and update information and the statusof assigned tasks through tools defined by client.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field 5 years of advanced level Information Technology Systemsexperience.
