Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance. Maintain the IT help-desk ticketing system. Provide technical support for employees, including troubleshooting issues with laptops, mobile devices, printers, and Wi-Fi. Provide technical assistance and support to end-users via phone, email, virtually/ remotely, and in-person. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves software and hardware incidents, including Windows operating systems, across a range of software applications. Takes ownership of issues by implementing temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the user as soon as possible. Ensure smooth Wi-Fi connectivity across all office locations and assist with any network-related issues. Responsible for setup, maintenance, upgrading and rollout of user workstations. Creates and maintains relevant support documentation in order to assist users in the quick resolution of incidents and to enable users to become more self-sufficient. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers as needed for escalated issues or specialized support. Monitoring network performance to ensure that there are no bottlenecks or errors that could impact productivity. Leverage Microsoft office tools and functionality to enhance process efficiency, communication, improve resource visibility and drive overall effectiveness across the agency. Maintain inventory of IT equipment and oversee hardware lifecycle management. Maintain documentation for IT procedures, support tickets, and systems configuration. Support the onboarding and offboarding of employees by provisioning and deprovisioning hardware and software access. Ensure data security, backup procedures, and compliance with agency IT policies. Installing and maintaining computer networks, including printers and other peripherals Configuring and managing firewalls. Installing patches to fix security vulnerabilities in computer systems. Provide after-hours on-call emergency support as needed. Continually improve and streamline IT processes to enhance agency productivity and system reliability. Participate in special projects as assigned. Reporting/auditing of users and systems. Keeps current with technology growth and advancements of both software and hardware. Attend staff meetings and training as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Three years of experience as a PC technician or in a related field. Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass mandatory random drug tests. Travel required locally up to 30% of the time for work-related technical support or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings, training, and functions. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A+/Network+ certification preferred. Strong proficiency in managing Office 365 and troubleshooting related issues. Experience with networks, Wi-Fi, printers, phones, and office equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to handle various duties, which may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances. Excellent communication skills and the ability to assist staff and parents with technical support in a clear, easy-to-understand manner. Ability to maintain a professional, calm, and service-oriented demeanor when assisting staff and parents. The IT Specialist will play a crucial part in our agency by providing essential support to resolve technical issues and delivering top-notch customer service. In conjunction with the agency’s IT Consultant, will assist in managing the agency’s network across multiple office locations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. This is a full-time, year-round position.
