JOB SUMMARY

Our manufacturing company in Shreveport, LA, is seeking an entry-level IT Support Technician to join our small, dynamic IT team. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will provide foundational IT support and assist with daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on hands-on technical support and significant physical tasks, including installing equipment and running network cables, to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide helpdesk support, responding to employee IT requests and troubleshooting basic hardware, software, and network issues. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment in office and manufacturing settings. Run network cables and assist with basic networking tasks (e.g., connecting devices to switches). Support Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Windows 10/11 endpoints under supervision. Perform physical tasks, including equipment installation, cabling, lifting or moving hardware (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and working in areas with dust, noise, and temperature variations. Assist with user training on software and systems as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

0-2 years in IT support or a related field. Internship or coursework experience is acceptable.

Qualifications:

Basic familiarity with Windows 10/11 Understanding of Microsoft 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams). Knowledge of basic networking concepts (e.g., connecting cables, troubleshooting connectivity). Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sage 100) or CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Vault/Inventor) is a plus but not required.

Education:

High school diploma required, associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) are a plus but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.

Location:

Fully onsite at our manufacturing facility and office in Shreveport, LA, with regular exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Demands:

Significant physical tasks in both office and manufacturing settings, including lifting, climbing, and equipment installation.
