year Communication skills Active Directory CompTIA A+ Entry level Full Job Description EDC is a technology management firm looking for a Tier 1 Helpdesk Technician to join our team supporting companies in south Louisiana and especially in the New Orleans area. Our clients typically range from 10-100 users and we support all of their IT needs. The ideal candidate will have strong desktop support skills, basic understanding of networking concepts, superior customer service skills, and a passion for using computing devices and automation to help our clients succeed in their missions. We are looking for a team player to fit into our company full of team players. Someone who lives their life with integrity. Someone who takes pride in their work and prefers quality solutions. We need someone with good communication skills, and someone who is always seeking to improve their technical skills. And finally, someone who likes to have fun and has a good sense of humor. A high tolerance for puns is preferred. What do you need to qualify for this position? Reliable transportation for client visits in New Orleans and surrounding area Functional knowledge of network hardware (switches, firewalls, APs etc..) Network protocols (TCP/IP) Understanding of storage options (RAID levels, DAS, SAN, iSCSI, etc) Knowledge of operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, MacOS, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) Professional communication both written and verbally Working knowledge of

Active Directory Recommended:

2 year technical degree, CompTIA A+ certification, or one year relevant experience

Provide help desk support, including troubleshooting, with fast responses and documentation of your work Tracking your time for both client facing and internal work Travel to and work onsite at customer locations as needed Manage escalations to vendor support or other internal resources Administer equipment, hardware, and software upgrades Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights Develop, document, and train on hardware installation and troubleshooting procedures Assist Project team with onsite deployments
