IT Technician Position Available In St. James, Louisiana

Description We’re currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team and provide exceptional end-user support across our offices, vessels, and port operations. As a Desktop Support Technician, you’ll be the go-to resource for employees needing hardware, software, and systems assistance. You’ll support both shore-based personnel and coordinate remote support for vessel-based teams, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations across the board. + Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. + Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 operating systems and essential maritime software tools. + Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for both office and remote/vessel users. + Support communication systems used in maritime environments (satellite phones, radio integration with IT systems, etc.). + Assist in maintaining IT asset inventory and documentation. + Coordinate with vessel crews and field technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely. + Ensure compliance with security protocols and company IT policies. + Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and ongoing support projects. Requirements + 2+ years of experience in a desktop support, IT help desk, or field support role. + Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and basic networking. + Experience with hardware troubleshooting and peripheral device configuration. + Ability to provide remote support using tools like TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or RDP. + Excellent communication skills, especially in remote support scenarios. + Must be able to occasionally travel to port facilities or vessels as needed. + Understanding of safety protocols in industrial/marine environments.
