POSITION DESCRIPTION

Part-time Community Computer Center Assistants provide support and assistance to users of the community computer center. This role involves helping community members with computer usage, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting educational programs and maintaining computer equipment and the cleanliness and organization of the computer center. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a passion for community service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all users. Provide guidance and support to users on basic computer functions, internet usage and software applications. Offer help with printing, scanning and other related tasks. Monitor and restock necessary supplies such as printer paper and ink cartridges. Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to computer hardware, software and network connectivity. Report major technical problems to Management. Enforce computer center rules and policies to maintain a safe, fair and productive environment. Support digital literacy efforts and community outreach. Maintain accurate records of computer center usage. Ensure the computer center is clean, tidy and presentable at all times. Regularly sanitize computer equipment, keyboards and workstations. Performs other administrative duties and projects as required.

SCHEDULE & QUALIFICATION EXPECTATIONS

Schedules available for 20 – 25 hours per week, Tuesday – Saturday. Must be able to work up to 7 hours, 3 to 5 days/week during Computer Center Hours. High School diploma or equivalent. Technologically savvy. Must be self-directed, dependable and committed to working when scheduled. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and background screen.

SALARY:

$16 – $17/hr
