Job Summary Summary:

Responsible for managing the issuance, maintenance, and deactivation of identification badges and access control systems for staff, visitors, and contractors. This role involves working with the organization’s Information Systems (IS) team to ensure that all badges are issued according to security protocols, that access to restricted areas is properly controlled, and that any issues related to badge access or security are resolved promptly. No Essential Functions:
  • Issue, activate, and deactivate hospital identification badges for staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring accurate access levels based on job roles and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with hospital departments to verify access requests and ensure that badges are issued in compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all issued badges, ensuring that information is up-to-date and properly logged.
  • Monitor and update the hospital’s access control systems, including badge expiration dates, security clearance levels, and restricted areas.
  • Handle requests for lost, stolen, or damaged badges and issue replacements in accordance with hospital security protocols.
  • Coordinate with the Information Systems (IS) department and security teams to troubleshoot issues related to badge access and resolve any technical or operational problems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving access issues, including deactivating badges for terminated or transferred employees. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Administrative and/or security experience 1-2 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of access control systems and badge issuance processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in badge issuance, tracking, and recordkeeping.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to resolve issues related to badge access or security systems.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with hospital staff, contractors, and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and access control management software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
