Job Description

IT Technician/Help Desk 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars Clinton, MO Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Degree or relevant certifications in Information Technology preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Knowledge of modern technology, including computer proficiency, daily use of common software. Ability to demonstrate correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to create and maintain accurate repair records. Ability to demonstrate appropriate telephone techniques and etiquette. Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including oral and written communication. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods. Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend, and reach. Working Conditions Salary schedule Technology Employed for a period of 12 months Reviewed annually and recommended for reemployment determined by the Superintendent Reports to Director of Technology Other Working Conditions Leave policies and fringe benefits as stated in Board policies. Work cooperatively with administration and staff throughout the District. Position Responsibilities Work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with school personnel using tact, courtesy and good judgment. Setup, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computer systems and other various technologies on-site, remotely, and via phone. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes. Work independently prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Perform administrative support functions requiring independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving. Escalate issues beyond the scope of the position to appropriate parties. Receive and respond to inquiries on a variety of matters and ability to work successfully through frequent interruptions to the normal work schedule. Answer correspondence independently. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology. Dress professionally and in a manner that will not interfere with the educational environment.
