DISTRICT SUPPORT, PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS
1. Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of an Associates Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting/Procurement or related field
2. Possession of, or ability to obtain within four (4) years, Certified Professional Buyer (CPPB) or equivalent certification; valid driver’s license
3. One or more years of increasingly responsible experience in purchasing, public purchasing preferred; experience with automated procurement systems preferred
4. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
5. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

JOB GOAL
Efficiently process bids for commodities, products, and services needed for school units, coordinate and facilitate contract administration and payments in accordance with District policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Developing and implementing specifications, commodity contracts, and other purchasing documents
2. Competitively procure commodities, supplies, and professional services for district departments, including researching, receiving, and analyzing bid specifications and requirements, recommending sources for purchase, delivery, and making necessary adjustments
3. Developing and evaluating Requests for Information (RFI), Request for Bids (RFB), Requests for Quotations (RFQ), and Request for Proposals (RFP)
4. Utilize automated procurement and financial systems and other software applications as required
5. Research and utilize cooperative procurement agreements
6. Assist with training district staff on purchasing procedures, including purchasing, financial, and procurement systems, and customized training programs
7. Establish and maintain price agreements, as assigned
8. Develop and manage assigned contracts between the district and vendors
9. Assist end users in the management and oversight of contract performance
10. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned
11. Adheres to good safety practices.
12. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
13. Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
14. Other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.
