Job Description
Field Technician 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars Grain Valley, MO Grain Valley Schools is currently seeking applicants for a Field Technician in our Technology Department. This position is critical for supporting and maintaining the district’s hardware and software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose equipment failures or software-related issues with PC and Mac computers, iPads, Chromebooks, printing, and instructional media equipment. Identify needed repairs and ensure equipment is in proper working order. Provide remote and in-person troubleshooting & technical assistance to district staff and students. Install and maintain computer systems and peripherals within district guidelines. Maintain documents, files, and records (e.g., work order logs, inventory, etc.). Provide ongoing support by tutoring district staff on various software applications and hardware operations (e.g., e-mail, productivity applications, etc.). Collaborate with team members on projects such as computer lab refreshes, network hardware refreshes, or server upgrades. Attend meetings, workshops, and training to increase the job knowledge required to perform ever-changing job functions. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
One to three years of computer service experience is required. Working knowledge of various computer systems, such as Windows, macOS, & Chrome OS. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of computer installation, maintenance, and software support to perform computer troubleshooting. Ability to work as part of a team; be dependable, reliable, and flexible. Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to work with others with lesser technical skills to resolve questions and issues. Ability to be organized, set priorities, and work effectively under pressure, performing individual projects and routine matters with minimal direction from a supervisor. Ability to learn new systems and concepts as the district continues to expand technology. Ability to keep accurate records, files, and reports.
