Desktop Support Specialist II Changing Technologies, Inc. 1530 S 7th St, Sanford, NC 27330 About the Role One of our Govt. clients in Sanford, NC is looking for an Expert Specialist to join our NCDIT-Transportation Client Services Team. In this role, you’ll serve as a technical problem-solver who ensures our users have seamless access to the technology they need. You’ll tackle complex IT issues, mentor team members, and maintain excellent customer relationships while implementing technical solutions that drive organizational success. This position offers the perfect blend of technical troubleshooting, customer service, and project leadership – ideal for someone who enjoys solving diverse technical challenges while making a meaningful impact on transportation operations. What You’ll DoTechnical Support & Problem Resolution Evaluate and prioritize IT incidents and service desk tickets based on business impact Take ownership of customer problems and resolve them with a sense of urgency Serve as a technical resource for other technicians on complex problems Deploy and configure hardware including computers, printers, and peripherals Install software applications and ensure proper configuration Manage user data and profile migration during computer replacements Coordinate with Data Center Operations for server storage, network reservations, and account management Work with development teams to troubleshoot application issues Collaborate with network teams to identify and resolve infrastructure problems Customer Service Excellence Build and maintain positive customer relationships Communicate progress updates to customers and support staff Document work thoroughly in call tracking systems Mentor team members on customer satisfaction best practices Technical Leadership Stay current with emerging technology trends and solutions Research and recommend technical solutions for current and future challenges Implement information technology enhancements to improve organizational outcomes Lead projects requiring coordination of team efforts Assess and leverage individual strengths for project success Provide regular project status updates to management Documentation & Security Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all responsible areas Establish operational standards aligned with Service Level Agreements Review and update documentation annually Implement IT security requirements and protect data from unauthorized access Stay informed about DOT and ITS security policies What You’ll Need Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and components Strong understanding of networking protocols and communications Experience with user account management (AD, email, NCID, CITRIX, etc.) Project leadership skills with ability to direct work and make decisions Excellent customer service and communication abilities Documentation and process improvement capabilities Knowledge of IT security practices and data protection methods Why Join Us As part of our Client Services team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring transportation operations run smoothly through effective technology support.
