Full Job Description Summary:
The role of the Inside Sales Support Specialist is to be the expert for products, systems and applications within Burkert’s Pharma & Biotech Industry, thus supporting customers and the Sales team throughout all stages of the Sales process (pre & post). Proactive interaction with customers for opportunity generation & conversion to orders, technical consultation and troubleshooting, general support and to manage effective new business development activities in target markets. Educating internal employees and external sales resources to best support sales activities is also a key component of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In-depth understanding of existing application
- system
- product
- & service portfolio (technical, regulatory, commercial, etc.
) within core industry; both, in direct communication with customer and as support for outside sales force. “Translation” of customer requirements (i.e. specification sheets, P&IDs, technical drawings, etc.) into existing Burkert offering, or identification of opportunities for custom solutions. Ability to lead or consult in selection of best suitable products & solutions to meet customer’s and/or application’s requirements. Provide solutions to inquiries & technical questions from the Customer (end user; distributor), inside and outside sales reps Review new applications and utilize independent judgment to determine the proper technical solution to be sold proposed to a customer; ability to crossover competitor’s products to Burkert. Gathering & preparation of specifications for new product variants or customized system solutions. Administration of internal product

- creation processes in cooperation with local and global Engineering teams.
Proactive, customer-facing management of product change notifications, phase-outs and quality alerts per Burkert’s established processes (or heavy support of Account Sales Manager). Coordination within Burkert’s global Engineering network and processes to continuously grow expertise and/or to collaborate on technical evaluation of new opportunities, specialized customer consultations or complex troubleshooting activities. Administrative support of marketing & sales campaigns: ability to gather & evaluate datasets (i.e. customers, applications, products, industries, etc.). Utilization of CRM & other tools to track leads and monitor sales progress. Maintaining detailed records of customer interactions and technical inquiries.

REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of customer service or inside experience preferably in a manufacturing environment BS in any engineering field, preferably BSME or BSEE, or 7-10 years’ experience in Fluid Control industry or equivalent experience Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Experience in SAP preferred Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service Ability to identify and solve technical issues related to product performance Strong understanding of relevant scientific principles and product applications. Advanced MS Word and Excel Strong technical writing skills Customer focus and attention to detail Must be clear and concise while operating in a fast-paced environment Excellent oral, written and communication skills Able to work closely within a team and contribute individually Ability and motivation to self-train for continued growth
