Our client, a global manufacturer of precision sheet-metalproducts, has an immediate need for an experienced TechnicalSupport Specialist, to join their winning team in Charlotte. Our candidate of choice will provide technical and troubleshootingassistance to customers and field service engineers regardingproduct specific functionality, operational controls and spareparts availability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Help resolve technical problems on standard, special, and CNCmachine tool products and controls. Verbally assist customers and customer service representatives withboth electrical and mechanical technical advice obtained fromtechnical manuals, engineering, etc. Maintain all reference materials at workstation in a neat andorderly manner to properly support assigned products. Work directly with Engineering and advise the department manager offield problems related to software, hardware, support equipment, orproblems of a design nature for clarification and resolution. Keep abreast of new product development through direct contact withengineering, marketing and the training department. Help serve as technical training instructor to regional servicegroups and customers on new and old equipment. Collect data on field failures and consult with manager ondifficult problems or unusual situations. Write procedures for repair or replacement of components. Actively participate in product improvement meetings and recommenddesign changes or modifications to improve overall productreliability. Promote excellent customer relations through courteous, accurateand informative correspondence, both verbal and written. Generate service technical bulletins to advise customer servicerepresentatives and other qualified parties of procedure, designmodifications, or change. Process spare parts orders when necessary. Perform other duties assigned as necessary.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
AAS Degree in a technical major, preferably in Mechanical orElectronic Technology. 3 – 5 years’ experience servicing CNC punching, bending or metalcutting laser equipment and Fanuc controls. Excellent verbal communication and customer service orientatedskills. Able to collaborate and interact with others to resolve difficultcustomer situations. Demonstrated mechanical and creative capabilities.
