Overview:
CBC is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join the IT team. This hands-on role provides end-user support across all CBC business lines and is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT systems, including Windows and Mac computers, mobile devices, and related hardware and software. The position will share responsibility for daily IT service desk operations and asset management. A strong foundation in IT support practices, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain clear documentation are essential. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicative, and solutions focused. This is a junior level position.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Provide responsive technical support to end users, ensuring a positive customer service experience. Manage IT service desk ticket lifecycle from initial report to resolution, escalating when necessary. Configure, deploy, and support PCs, monitors, tablets, and mobile devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android). Install and maintain hardware and software, including upgrades and troubleshooting. Provide remote and in-person support for technical issues. Create and maintain documentation, including user guides and internal procedures. Assist with corporate cellular service provider account management. This position will rotate days working at different RDU offices and participate in a 24×7 on-call schedule. Maintain inventory and configuration records for hardware and software assets. Track software licensing and ensure compliance through accurate documentation. Identify and suggest opportunities for process automation. Use the ServiceDesk Plus Solution Management module to enhance the user support experience. Support and educate users on IT systems and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in spoken and written English with demonstrable ability to write clear and concise communications without the assistance of AI. 2+ years’ experience in an IT Service Desk role or equivalent IT support. 2+ years’ experience supporting Windows 10/11 computers. MacOS is a bonus. 1+ years’ experience managing an IT ticketing system queue (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, or ServiceDesk Plus). 1+ years’ experience creating and updating IT documentation for both IT and users. Assertiveness to get the data, deliverables, and results required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent understanding of IT concepts: Operating systems, email, printers, Active Directory, networking, telephony, and/or cybersecurity.
Relevant IT certifications:
Microsoft preferred. Current ITIL certification. Associates degree or higher in a technical area. Understanding of user application support processes and procedures.
Physical Demands:

Capability to present information to audiences of varying sizes. Close vision and ability to differentiate colors for documents, tickets, charts, etc. Able to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds, move IT equipment, and install hardware.
