Description of Work Are you seeking a career in information technology? This User Support Technician I will provide hardware and software support to the Controller’s Office, including providing technical support for the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) with over 500+ users.
Specific responsibilities include:
Analyzing the functionality of current accounting systems and fiscal operations to determine the adequacy, effectiveness and appropriateness of DPS’s accounting systems, related interfaces and operating procedures. Support of NCFS includes not only technical knowledge of complex mainframe software, but also the effect of other system Interfaces and knowledge of department fiscal policy.
Identifying problem areas and developing solutions to improve operating effectiveness.
Ensuring NCFS security management, policies and procedures are developed and revised as necessary
Providing helpdesk support for NCFS, NetPlus, Core Banking, PCard/Wex Gas Card, NCID, Sub W-9 supplier updates and desktop support. This employee will work independently and within a team environment and the position reports directly to the System Support Manager. Position is responsible for working in a high-volume system support help desk answering questions or directing inquiries related to NCFS, NetPlus, Core Banking, BOA Works, NCID, NCXCloud, and will work closely with personnel within the Controller’s Office, NCFS users, Purchasing, MIS or Network and the Office of the State Controller. Experience providing helpdesk support
Experience providing software training and/or technical advice on software packages
Experience with LAN/hard disk back-ups
Experience with hardware and software installation
Experience supporting/troubleshooting Business applications
