L1/L2 Desktop Support Engineer
Overview:
Seeking a customer-facing Level 1/Level 2 Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on support for a small banking client in Fort Lee, NJ. This individual will serve as the first and second line of response for infrastructure and desktop support tickets. The client is looking for a reliable, professional resource who can cover internal tech needs while a full-time staff member is out.
Responsibilities:
Provide Level 1/2 technical support for desktop systems, laptops, and peripherals
Troubleshoot issues related to Windows OS
, Active Directory
, and Office 365
Address end-user hardware/software issues onsite
Maintain and configure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
Respond to support requests related to internal applications, networking, and general IT operations
Support onboarding and offboarding of users
Escalate complex issues as needed and document resolutions
Potential involvement with endpoint security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike)
Must-Have Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a desktop support or help desk role
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11
, Office 365
, and basic network troubleshooting
Experience with Active Directory (user account administration)
Proven ability to work independently and manage support queues
Professionalism and dependability in onsite corporate settings
Available to work 3 4 days per week onsite in Fort Lee, NJ
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Nice-to-Have:
Exposure to endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike)
Experience supporting banking or financial services organizations
Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools
Knowledge of small-team or multi-hat IT environments
