THE POSITION

As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will work as part of a unit which provides a wide-range of on-site information technology (IT) support to the Health and Human Services (HHS) program offices throughout the Commonwealth. Our HHS IT Delivery Center team provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), Department of Human Services (DHS), the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA), and the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority (PHIEA). OF WORK
Within this role, you will provide crucial on-site IT support for the Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (OMHSAS), at Danville State Hospital and well as provide on-site IT support for DHS and DOH offices in surrounding counties.
Some specific responsibilities include the troubleshooting maintenance and support of Danville State Hospital’s numerous IT systems, in addition to providing service for telephony systems such as desktop IP phones, key systems, telephone cabling, private branch exchanges (PBX), and more. This professional also provides desktop IT support, mobile device management, network support, and asset management.

Work Schedule and Information:

Full-time Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework:

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. You must report to the office 3 days per week at a minimum. Telework schedule is subject to change and you may be required to report to the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office located at Danville State Hospital. Other reasons foring into the office include changes to the current telework schedule, to attend training, mandatory meetings, or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense. Parking is located at the facility and is free.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes). You will receive furthermunication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam junk folders, for these notices.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support administration services; or
An equivalentbination of experience and training.
