Phone or In-Person Position Summary The South Carolina is seeking a qualified IT Support Technician to join its Information Technology Services (ITS) team. Under the general supervision of the IT Manager II , Regional Endpoint Technician I , or Endpoint Technician I , this role will provide technical support and hands-on assistance in the setup, installation, maintenance, and usage of computing devices and peripherals across the headquarters building. Key Responsibilities (Daily Duties) Area Responsibilities Device Imaging & Setup
- Build desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) .
- Confirm successful MECM client installation.
- Ensure BitLocker encryption key is stored in Active Directory and Intune .
- Keep devices connected to the NTS network for 2.5 hours post-build to complete check-in. Software & Configuration
- Install all required software as listed on the build sheet.
- Ensure proper configuration of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Edge). Inventory & Documentation
- Record device information in AM Cloud , Active Directory , and the Drakewell spreadsheet for labels.
- Follow the Drakewell-IAM Procedure Manual for documentation standards. Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PC hardware/software .
- Record work in the Help Desk system .
- Perform maintenance and coordinate vendor repairs. Asset Management
- Assist with the removal/disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Salvage usable parts where applicable. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by IT leadership.
Required Skills (Ranked by Importance) Skill Area Description Hardware/Software Knowledge Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windows OS (especially Windows 10) , and peripheral installation/repair. Technical Support 4+ years of experience supporting desktop and networked systems in an enterprise environment. Microsoft Technologies Expertise with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager , Active Directory , Intune , and Microsoft Office Suite . Troubleshooting Proven experience resolving system issues, conducting maintenance, and performing diagnostics. Work Requirements Must be onsite at SCDOT Headquarters for 40 hours per week . Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within an IT desktop support environment.
