Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to access secure government systems. Previous government IT support experience is strongly preferred. About the Role The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Support Technician to join our Endpoint Services team. In this role, you will lead onsite imaging, configuration, deployment, and technical support for laptops, desktops, and tablets within our Columbia headquarters. This is a great opportunity for professionals with a strong background in IT deployments and hardware support within a government or enterprise setting. Key Responsibilities Build and configure desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Validate deployments:

BitLocker key storage, MECM client installation, and network connectivity. Ensure systems remain connected post-installation to complete software and configuration tasks. Maintain accurate asset tracking and documentation via Active Directory, internal systems, and spreadsheets. Respond to help desk tickets and support end users with hardware/software troubleshooting. Assist with device recycling, salvage, and inventory management. Collaborate with SCDOT’s Help Desk and Network teams to ensure service quality and compliance. Must-Have Skills (Minimum 4 Years’ Experience) Imaging and configuration of laptops/desktops/tablets Windows 10 system support

Microsoft Office Suite:

Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Edge Networked systems and hardware troubleshooting Documentation and asset management Strong customer service, time management, and communication skills Preferred Skills Familiarity with Windows 11 Basic knowledge of Active Directory Experience following government or large enterprise IT protocols Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs occasionally) Strong reasoning, ability to follow documentation/instructions Required Education High School Diploma required Associate or Bachelor’s in IT-related field preferred A+ or Network+ certifications highly desirable

Work Conditions Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week (standard business hours)
