IT Technician 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 411 Industrial Drive, White House, TN 37188 Job Summary The IT Technician is customer-oriented IT support, who will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our employees, ensuring that their technology-related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Their primary focus will be on answering calls, troubleshooting problems, and providing timely solutions to maintain smooth operations within our organization. They will be responsible for maintaining inventories, responding to tickets, auditing and improving infrastructure, and assisting with devices, users, and groups within the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via phone calls or email. Respond to incoming support requests promptly and professionally, maintaining a high level of customer service, and managing time between multiple requests. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and other IT systems. Provide step-by-step instructions and guidance to users for problem resolution or escalation to higher-level support if required. Maintain accurate and detailed records of support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system. Assist with basic network configuration and maintenance tasks, including IP addressing, DNS settings, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Provide support in managing office network infrastructure such as switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and cabling. Document network layouts, device configurations, and changes to maintain accurate records for IT operations. Collaborate with colleagues and team members to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance overall system performance, and recognize shortcomings of current technical solutions to research, recommend, and implement alternatives for improvement. Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications as needed. Assist in the setup and maintenance of user accounts, access rights, and security permissions. Conduct user training sessions to educate employees on basic software and hardware usage. Lend some time to configuration and upkeep of other ongoing IT projects. Ensure adherence to IT policies, procedures, and service level agreements. Maintain IT inventories and records, keeping them up to date to accurately reflect the current state of devices, software, licenses, and other systems. Oversee stock of peripherals, cables, and certain IT equipment within the office for office personnel. Configure and deploy devices and endpoints to users, handling logistics and setup, and also processing repairs, returns, refurbishments, and decommissioning of devices in accordance with the IT policies and procedures. Track expenses and collect invoices for purchases made on behalf of the IT team for IT-related work and assist in the keeping of accurate records. Other IT-related Duties as
Assigned Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365 Admin Center, and Microsoft’s Office Stack. Thorough understanding of computer system principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work. Ability to explain technical problems and offer clear and helpful solutions to those without technological training. Good troubleshooting skills and an ability to diagnose and find solutions to unrecognized problems.
Education and Experience:
Combination of 2+ years of relevant IT experience and certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar), or a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to travel occasionally to local or regional company facilities for support, setup, or troubleshooting purposes, potentially requiring overnight stays. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Occasional stooping, bending, reaching, and climbing to secure cords, hardware, and computer accessories.
