Desktop Support Sira Consulting Inc Bristol, VT Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, and maintaining desktop systems. This role requires a strong understanding of both Windows and macOS environments, as well as experience with various networking protocols and security measures. Responsibilities Provide technical support for desktop systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory. Assist with the configuration and maintenance of Windows Server environments. Support IT infrastructure, including firewalls, DNS, and TCP/IP networking. Ensure proper computer management practices are followed to maintain system integrity and security. Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues and improve support processes. Document all support interactions in the ticketing system for tracking and reporting purposes. Conduct regular system checks and updates to ensure optimal performance of desktop systems. Experience Proven experience in desktop support or technical support roles. Familiarity with Windows Server administration and management. Knowledge of macOS systems is a plus. Understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills to effectively assist end-users with varying levels of technical expertise.
