Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance hardware-in-the-loop test systems, develop new components to support testing requirements, and create tools to improve productivity. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, assisting other teams, and contributing to strategic decisions. A strong background in LabVIEW, system design, and debugging combined hardware and software systems is essential.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and support existing hardware-in-the-loop test systems, addressing issues and configuring systems to meet testing goals. Refactor systems to enhance usability, stability, maintainability, and efficiency. Develop new software and hardware components to support emerging testing requirements. Create internal tools to improve productivity and streamline testing tasks. Assist other teams with testing tools and provide domain expertise beyond immediate test infrastructure support. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers. Contribute to strategic decisions and prioritize team tasks and goals.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Active or Interim Secret Clearance. 5+ years of CLA or equivalent LabVIEW experience. Proficiency in source revision control and code reviews. Ability to design user-friendly systems that simplify configuration steps. Expertise in designing systems to maximize uptime and minimize maintenance through code optimization and thorough testing. Strong documentation skills for troubleshooting steps and procedures. Experience in systematic debugging of combined hardware and software systems. Basic knowledge of laboratory test tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes) and electrical concepts (continuity, voltage/current/resistance, grounding, etc.).
