This role is ONSITE in either Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that facilitates an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. This program is essential for all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the capabilities of all current and future missile defense systems.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

This is a Capability Engineer position for which the selected applicant will perform the following: Develop use cases and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including defining Epics and Features for the Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and conduct formal and informal engineering reviews
Provide development support for junior systems engineering team members to create use cases, enhancing their skills within the department
Reviewing the content and details of technical products and serving as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as needed
Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners, requiring collaboration with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time and within the available resources
Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective
Erroneous decisions would generally fail to achieve primary organizational objectives
May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as the prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance.
8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline or a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience,
or a PhD and 4 years of experience,
or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system
Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in: Development of use cases
Sequence diagrams
SysML modeling in support of MBSE Skills in generating system or element-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
Requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system
Defining the relationships between internal and external components
Communicating system-level use cases along with their associated epics and feature relationships to a diverse group that includes customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS

Current and Active in-scope DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering

Certification:

INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Certification:

Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional

  • Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP
  • MBF)
    DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.

) is highly desired at the start
Skills in logical architecture modeling and interface definition, along with knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation, are highly desirable
Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a significant plus
Experience with other Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly desired

Salary Range:

The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications
