Job Description

System Engineer (FMS) Huntsville, Alabama Engineering 21525 Astrion is in search of a Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to facilitate and execute system development, procurement, and deployment within the CUAS Product Office International Directorate.

Responsibilities:

Conduct reviews on program portfolios to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs and processes, manage and sustain the program technical baseline, and design and perform system-level tests to ensure subsystem and system performance align with approved specifications.
Perform program reviews to assess alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, designs, and test results to ensure subsystem and system performance meet program specifications.
Provide system and program engineering, technical support, and technical training for initiatives including, but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding, installation, and operations oversight.
Assist with material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operations and support.
Support engineering technical and technical management processes associated with version and configuration control
Prepare technical documents that define, specify, and recommend system and subsystem characteristics.
Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations, analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, and support of associated engineering IPTs
Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures.
Analyze and evaluate results of major engineering systems.
Provide engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on performance, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, cost-performance, life cycle cost, productivity, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.
Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered into the system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product).
Provide concepts and requirements analyses support services, including review and analysis of Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD), Analyses of Alternatives (AoA), Military Utility Assessments, Concepts of Operation (CONOP), Technology Development Strategies, Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) / Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), Technology Standards Profiles
Assist with the planning and execution of technical reviews and assessments (e.g., System Requirements Review, Technology Readiness Assessment).
Support the development of associated documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans and Risk Management Plans.

Requirements:

Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
Experience planning, preparing, executing test plans (validation and Verification activities)
Experience developing information papers and decision briefings
Experience with requirements management
Experience with radar, Electromagnetic Warfare, or kinetic defeat

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline with 3-10 years direct experience
US Citizen with ability to receive DoD TS/SCI security clearance
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Previous experience in Army Program Office Engineering Team is preferred
Must possess strong communications and analytical skills, be a self-starter, and detail oriented
Counter Unmanned Aircraft System or Radar experience
