Job Description

This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer to support to the Human Landing System (HLS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SEandI) office’s Utilization Payload Team in the areas of systems engineering. This support includes systems-level interface requirements developments and management, inputs to and review of project architecture, design and documentation, technical coordination, export control compliance, verification requirements development, verification planning, and problem resolution.

Senior Engineers also provide support in the discipline areas of avionics, software, power, ECLSS, structures, thermal, and communications, if/as needed by the Project. Establishes the development of payload integration and interface definition documentation. The contractor shall perform Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) roles for SpaceX and/or Blue Origin in utilizing the JIRA tool. The contractor shall work with assigned HLS-manifested payloads in the areas of systems engineering including participating in technical reviews and document reviewsSome additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Requirements:

A degree in Engineering, Math, CS/Engineering, or related field is required. A degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a PhD. With 9 years of experience, an MS with at least 13 years of experience or a BS with at least 15 years of experience.

Experience in technology development, operations, and systems engineering policies, principles, practices, and processes (including model-based systems engineering methodology).Systems engineering or integration experience with payloads or flight systems is required.

Working knowledge of NASA or DoD Systems Engineering processes is required.

Model-Based Systems Engineering experience required specifically with the MagicDraw tool.

Independent initiative with good follow-up and organizational skills.
