Apigee Cloud Platform Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Apigee Cloud Platform Engineer in Jacksonville, FL.
Summary:
The client is looking for a high-caliber, well-rounded cloud technology professional with experience partnering with application teams to bring solutions to market. This API Engineer + DevOps + Cloud Engineering role will design and develop the automated deployments and ApigeeX solutions that our applications rely upon, as well as design and manage the related components within our IDP suite of solutions. The candidate will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and management of our path-to-production experience for API based applications.
Duties Include:
- Lead analytical and consulting working sessions to solve technical problems faced by the application teams trying to onboard Apigee
- Configure and manage Apigee resources, including gateways, policies, and deployment models
- Monitor cloud resources, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies
- Define and implement monitoring requirements for Apigee components and APIs
- Design, develop and engineer re-usable self-service modules and pipelines for deploying API and Apigee Security infrastructure that developers and portfolio managers can leverage at scale
- Work with development and product owners directly and regularly to prioritize future enhancements which allows the business and the organization to scale and grow quickly
- Partner with Cyber Security in assuring our modules and automation deploy componentry that is secure-by-default
- Contribute to whiteboarding the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of our platforms
- Develop well defined processes for testing and integrating new technologies to meet both business and technical needs while driving the elimination of operational tasks through automation and self-service
REQUIREMENTS
- Computer Science degree or other degree with equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps/cloud platform engineering experience in a hybrid cloud environment (Google Cloud Platform + AWS)
- 3+ years of proven experience using Hashicorp Terraform for Infrastructure as Code to write advanced modules for deploying infrastructure or services which will provide automated and self-service deployment services
- 3+ years of proven experience designing, developing, and implementing APIs using the Apigee platform, focusing on building reusable API proxies and ensuring smooth API integration
- Strong understanding of API management life cycle components like creating environments, virtual hosts, API proxies, and cache
- Strong automation skills; Configuration management, Python/bash or equivalent scripting experience
- Working knowledge and experience with Cloud (Google Cloud Platform) Networking components and technologies
- Advanced applied knowledge and experience using some of the following tools: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Python, Splunk
- Strong, hands-on Google Cloud Platform cloud engineering and administration experience required
- Possess troubleshooting skills that span applications, networking, and systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative but able to work autonomously with minimal guidance in a rapidly changing environment
- Self-driven, willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Preferences (nice to have): - Desired hands-on experience with Generative AI
- Advanced troubleshooting of production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving technical problems related to the Apigee platform
- Desired hands-on experience administrating and configuring Server OS for automated deployments; Linux and Windows
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
