One of our clients, a mission-driven technology solutions firm, is seeking a Chief Cloud Engineer to lead Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure initiatives in support of government clients. This role also serves as the primary in-person company representative for Florida-based client engagements. The ideal candidate has deep experience managing secure, compliant Kubernetes environments and cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially in DoD settings.
The ideal candidate would be both an architect and an engineer. The client requires someone who can both design the architecture and then lead developing this design.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters across environments
Manage cloud platforms with a focus on automation and DoD compliance (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs)
Lead security assessments and implement remediation strategies
Collaborate on incident response and troubleshoot infrastructure issues
Serve as the senior point of contact for Florida client communications and events
Serve as regional manager when executive management is not in FL. Act as in-person Florida client liaison, taking charge of interaction, response, and representation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
15+ years of engineering experience, 5+ years in cloud/Kubernetes roles within defense or government programs
Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting (Python, Bash)
Certifications (e.g., CKA, AWS/Azure) preferred
This is a full-time position offering growth, client-facing leadership, and technical ownership across secure infrastructure deployments.
