Job Description Internally known as the Head of Reliability for Danfoss TurbocorCompressors (DTC), this expansion role will be pivotal in shapingand implementing a comprehensive reliability growth strategy thatdrives business success. This position involves developing anddeploying innovative reliability processes and methodologies,ensuring that products not only meet but exceed industry standards.

The Head of Reliability will lead initiatives in new productdevelopment and various engineering practices, focusing onminimizing field failures and enhancing R D quality processes.

By actively reducing warranty costs and effectively managingcustomer reliability crises, this role is essential in fosteringtrust and satisfaction among our customers, ultimately contributingto the long-term success of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors. This isan onsite position at our facility in Tallahassee, Florida with theopportunity for limited domestic and international travel.

Job Responsibilities Essential Functions, Key Tasks, & Responsibilities:
  • Develop reliability processes/methods and lead the reliabilityefforts in product development and engineering activities
  • Establish reliability goals and plans
  • Lead reliability engineering efforts with project teams tosupport design for reliability, validation, and qualification ofproduct reliability
  • Facilitate cross-functional risk assessments (e.g. DFMEA) in theproduct life cycle (from design, and development to productcontinuous improvements)
  • Carry out or oversight endurance tests
  • Deploy the Reliability Growth Analysis method (reliability levelvalidation during product development)
  • Monitoring reliability performance in new products in the stageof M5-M6 to ensure early trends of reliability issues are beingaddressed
  • Work closely with the DTC Quality System and Utilize the issuetracking databases to monitor the product reliability performance.

Build the plan to reduce the field defects by leadingmulti-department workshops (Quality, R D, Applications, Sales,and Operation), follow-up meetings, and brainstorming, to reinforceproduct reliability

  • Develop quality and reliability data analysis methods andtools
  • Identify early trends of reliability/quality issues by closelymonitoring quality/reliability data
  • Actively lead/participate in investigations on reliabilityissues
  • Promote knowledge-sharing on reliability issues within thevarious departments
  • Help solve reliability problems
  • Analyze risks: statistical studies using statistical tools anddatabase
  • Coordinate internal players in the event of a reliability crisisto resolve the problem quickly and efficiently
  • Monitor ongoing actions of reliability issues and ensure theirresolution
  • Reliability Benchmarking
  • Benchmark DTC legacy products and industrial equivalent productreliability performance
  • Define reliability benchmarking requirement
  • Evaluate necessary provisions with Finance, Quality, and theDTC leadership team in the event of a customer compensationrequests and follow-up on compensation agreements
  • Communicate reliability-related topics to customers under thedirection of the DTC leadership team
  • Understand and comply with quality policy, procedures, andinstructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction,attainment of business goal,s and environmental well-being

Education and/or Experience Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial, software,physics or equivalent Minimum of 10 years industry experiences in Reliability, Quality,or R D Knowledgeable in advanced reliability tools such as ReliabilityPrediction, Reliability Diagram, FMEA, Fault Tree, Weibull, HALTand ALT test methodologies, FRACAS (Failure Reporting andCorrective Action System), and 8D problem solving. Hand-on experience with a pragmatic approach working withcross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

(Education, Skills, Experience, and/orLanguages that are nice to have but not required): Experiences in highly mechanical-electronics (Mechatronics)products in the field of reliability, quality or engineering

Language and Communication:

Fluently read, speak and write in English Ability to articulate and communicate effectively on complex orsensitive issues from the details to strategies to the companyleadership team, vendors and customers Ability to express oneself effectively in front of groupsinternally and externally Master effective written and oral communication on different issuesincluding disputing Ability to prepare program summaries for peer, executive, orcustomer reviews. Able to plan, organize and facilitate efficientworking-level and review level meetings
