Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Associate Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. This entry-level position focuses on foundational infrastructure tasks, providing operational support, developing core technical skills, and gaining hands-on experience with modern systems administration practices across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform regular system checks and updates.
Project Participation:
Assist with project tasks, adhering to timelines and documenting progress.
Problem Solving:
Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve routine infrastructure issues.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work well independently and within a team, communicating clearly with stakeholders.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all corporate policies and security standards.
Workload Management:
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality.
Server Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers.
Cloud Basics:
Provision and manage basic Azure cloud resources, such as virtual machines and storage.
Configuration Management:
Assist in software deployments and updates using SCCM or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
Data Center Management:
Support maintenance of on-premises and virtual data centers.
Monitoring:
Monitor infrastructure health with tools like SolarWinds or Dynatrace, addressing alerts as needed.
Backup & Recovery:
Execute routine system backups and validate recovery procedures.
Virtualization Basics:
Assist with VMware administration, including provisioning VMs and monitoring resource usage.
Networking Fundamentals:
Troubleshoot and support wired and wireless networks, including TCP/IP, Domain Name System (DNS), Internet/Intranet, and/or general networking support tools.
Security & Compliance:
Support security teams to enhance the organization’s security posture.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure processes and configurations.
End-User Support:
Deliver Tier 2 support for desktop.
Education, Experience & Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience. 1-3 years of hands-on IT experience in a systems administration or similar support role. Foundational Certifications (not required): CompTIA A+, Network+, Azure Fundamentals.

Experience with Microsoft Azure basic services.

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration
Preferred:
Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization.
Preferred:
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.

Experience with Linux Server fundamentals.
Other Requirements:
Must participate in a rotational schedule for off-hours system support. Some tasks may require scheduled maintenance. Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours. This is a hybrid role. Must be willing to come onsite three days and work remote two days weekly. Must be able to operate a computer and other related devices; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds may be required.
