Information Technology Cobb EMC Overview Cobb EMC has an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer I to assist in the support of the Cobb EMC’s enterprise computing environment. Supports critical, enterprise level systems, devices, and work environment. Will performing systems maintenance and other administrative tasks, including operating systems and application software updates/patches on Windows based system is required, as is working in a Data Center Environment, exposed to PDU’s, Racks, and Cabling. Basic network knowledge and troubleshooting skills and a clear understanding of Ethernet protocols, and Domain services is required.

Responsibilities Major Responsibilities:

The following are major responsibilities of this position. They are not intended to cover each aspect of the position as the scope and duties may change or be temporarily altered based on the current business needs of the Corporation. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority. Physical and Virtual Server and Desktop Systems Maintenance Assist with maintenance of servers and desktop operating systems. Analyze and resolve problems with all PC/server software and operating systems on a priority basis. Administer server software including user applications, utilities, and operating systems on a priority basis. Assist with implementation of new PC programs necessary for proper processing and distribution of data. Research future software needs of servers and PCs, making recommendations as needed. Images laptops and desktops using enterprise tools. Monitor software on servers for current service packs or version changes, as well as hardware sizing for servers and workstation on an as needed basis. Work with all Microsoft Core Software bundle Assist in monitoring activity for compliance of Cobb EMC’s Cyber-Security Policy Software/Hardware Budgeting and Purchasing Research future software/hardware needs of servers, personal computers, and other computer equipment, making recommendations as needed. Assist in the annual budgeting process for software/hardware. Assist in the procurement of software/hardware.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or vocational/technical school diploma in technical computer field or equivalent work experience. Minimum two (2) years’ experience administering complex enterprise computing environments
SKILLS:
Proven experience with Windows Operating System installation, maintenance, upgrades & support. (Win 10, up) Proven experience working in Data Center Environments with related equipment (may include servers, switches, PDU’s, Racks, cabling, etc.) Proven experience identifying and implementing necessary systems and application software updates/patches Proven ability to analyze, isolate and resolve complex systems issues, utilizing industry standard troubleshooting techniques Proven ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and translate business needs into detailed systems designs. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy. Knowledge of Windows Operating System installation, maintenance, upgrades & support. (Win 10, up) Knowledge of scripting tools Knowledge of iOS and Android Operating System Knowledge of basic network cabling and troubleshooting Knowledge of ethernet protocols Effective oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills for interaction with various employees/groups Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, provide “situational” leadership and work collaboratively Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and work off hours/shifts as needed/required. Ability to collaborate with vendors.
PREFERRED
Previous utility industry experience. Certifications – CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security +, or
