Job Description
Cloud Governance Software Engineer Our client is seeking a Cloud Governance Software Engineer to join their cloud architecture and automation team, supporting the design and implementation of systems that enhance cloud security, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple cloud platforms. This role is a hybrid model in Atlanta, Georgia. Cloud Governance Software Engineer Responsibilities Design and build scalable systems that support enterprise-wide cloud governance across AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud environments. Automate processes and develop policy-as-code solutions to monitor and enforce infrastructure compliance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate governance tools into existing systems and drive adoption across engineering teams. Write scripts and develop APIs using languages such as Python, Golang, or Java to support automation and data collection. Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi. Participate in agile ceremonies and help prioritize development backlogs, contributing to the delivery of high-impact cloud initiatives. Act as a resource for risk and compliance considerations, working closely with cloud engineers, architects, and product teams. Continuously enhance security posture and operational integrity through detection, remediation, and governance automation. Cloud Governance Software Engineer Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of relevant work experience in cloud software engineering, automation, or infrastructure development. Strong coding experience with Python or Golang (preferred), and familiarity with automation and scripting practices. Proficiency with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially in resource provisioning and management. Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi. Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, or CircleCI. Solid understanding of cloud security and governance best practices. Exposure to agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA). Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across technical and non-technical teams. Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Preferred (Not Required): Knowledge of policy engines such as Cloud Custodian or Open Policy Agent (OPA). Basic front-end development experience. Awareness of cybersecurity principles in a cloud context. Experience with scaled agile planning frameworks such as SAFe. Cloud certification(s) such as AWS Solutions Architect or Developer.
Compensation:
