Delta’s Salesforce COE is responsible for enabling all business units who adopt Salesforce products – this means you need to be naturally curious, driven to understand by asking questions, focused on optimization, willing to explain to less experienced team members both in IT and the business, and able to quickly pivot between diverse business units with widely differing goals. It’s critical as a member of the COE to be a standard-bearer for best practices, Salesforce knowledge, and making Delta a better place.
The Senior Salesforce Process Engineer role is one of solution-oriented design. This role partners with our various domains to ensure programs involving Salesforce have a sound architecture. The Senior Engineer will help design effective, efficient innovative Salesforce solutions, defining modernization and improvements to existing systems, and combining a high level of Salesforce expertise with aviation industry standards to drive change and innovation across business lines. This high-level role requires aptitude in understanding current business needs and anticipating future business needs, while designing integrated solutions that are agile, durable, and stabile.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as technical lead and architecturally oriented SME for Salesforce applications at Delta
Lead development teams on and offshore
Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure the roadmaps do not conflict from a technical perspective and also stay closely aligned to Salesforce best practices and Deltas IT posture
Lead design of new applications and integrations
Salesforce Messaging in App on Web deployment experience in an operationally critical function using mobile app publisher
Robust service cloud knowledge in how to scale out for multi-faceted teams where some functions, but not all, are overlap and sensitive data cannot be shared across teams
Salesforce LWC usage for custom functions within a standard mobile publisher app

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical field, or related experience.
6+ years of professional experience in software architecture or senior software engineering capacity at enterprise scale
Understanding of AWS services such as IAM, VPCs, EC2, EBS, KMS, Airflow, GLUE, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Config, etc.)
Deep understanding of Salesforce Sales, Service, Experience Clouds, Event Monitoring, Marketing Cloud.
Fluency with one or more scripting/coding languages such as Java, Javascript, REST, JSON, Python
Ability to dig into a technical problem and lead troubleshooting sessions when necessary
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and developers with best practices
Deep sense of ownership and accountability
Deep understanding of risks and benefits for solutions that meet the business needs
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail, able to work effectively with domain partners across IT to ensure Salesforce solutions are following Delta’s established patterns and frameworks
Platform architecture skills including site reliability engineering, quality and testing, system design and integration, and implementation from the ground up
Experience in leading design and development of Sales solutions on Salesforce platforms that scale across Delta’s divisions
Experience defining and maintaining accountability to architectural design patterns and serving as a technology domain’s subject matter expert
Experience in CICD, TDD and DevOps within Salesforce
Experience developing POCs and passionate about innovation of new solutions
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
3+ years of experience with the architecture and design of non-Salesforce based cloud solutions, applications, integrations, and platform engineering
Experience working in an airline technology environment is preferred.
