Role Purpose The IT Architect plays a critical role in delivering innovative technology capabilities to support the organization’s owners, customers, and partners. This role helps define the architectural vision and operational parameters for Agile delivery teams, while also supporting governance processes to ensure solutions meet standards for performance, availability, quality, security, and maintainability. Key Accountabilities
Lead enterprise data architecture across cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Salesforce), on-premises systems (Oracle, Corporate, Financial), and big data tools.
Define and maintain architectural artifacts including data flows, logical/physical data models, and integrations.
Drive architectural strategy for large, complex projects involving multiple technologies and vendors.
Support proposals that integrate multiple architecture domains (process, application, data, infrastructure).
Oversee the architectural lifecycle, ensuring alignment with engineering and maintenance phases.
Make strategic decisions on system design, implementation, and maintenance.
Analyze end-to-end systems and processes, evaluating technical and economic feasibility.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to align on data strategy.
Enable collaboration across software developers, data engineers, security teams, and analysts.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
10+ years of progressive experience in IT, with 3-5 years specifically in data architecture.
Proven experience in large-scale enterprise architecture and cross-functional collaboration.

Technical Skills & Knowledge Architecture & Process Expertise:

Deep understanding of architecture principles and technology constraints.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, ITIL, and process improvement frameworks (e.g., CMMI, Six Sigma).

Data-Focused Skills:

Data warehouse ecosystems, data design principles, and reporting/analytics platforms.
Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and decision science (AI/ML).
Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and residency.
Master Data Management and demand planning applications.
Relational and NoSQL databases.

Middleware & Integration:

Java, REST APIs, enterprise caching, messaging (Kafka), microservices, and API gateways.
Enterprise integration patterns and ETL/data transformation.

Cloud & Platform Expertise:

Google Cloud (BigQuery), AWS, Salesforce, and cloud-native architectures.
Experience with hospitality data and big data platforms.

Compensation Range:

$100 – $120 per hour
