Ceipal ID SGA_AWS103_SP | GTA Requirement #764103 About the Role The State of Georgia is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead complex cloud migration and modernization efforts across multiple state agencies. In this high-impact role, you’ll design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud solutions while serving as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Architect and implement AWS and multi-cloud environments to support enterprise-scale migrations and application modernization. Provide technical leadership on AWS best practices including cost optimization, security, and performance. Guide cloud-native solution design using services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, and CloudFormation. Collaborate with teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines , IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation , and DevOps practices . Perform cloud readiness assessments , evaluate current infrastructure, and identify refactoring opportunities. Assist State agencies with cloud performance tuning , security compliance , and architecture reviews . Promote enterprise-wide cloud adoption , innovation, and emerging technologies (AI/ML, serverless, microservices). Document cloud design standards and deliver architectural governance. Required Qualifications 10+ years of overall IT experience 5+ years of: Enterprise architecture & solution design AWS cloud architecture & hands-on implementation Cloud consulting or technical pre-sales roles Deep experience with:
AWS Services:
EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC IaC tools: Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation App development languages: Java, Python, REST/SOAP Cloud databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles across applications, data, security, and infrastructure Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Highly Desired Experience with GCP and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Nice to Have Prior work with state/local government
- Highly Preferred Knowledge of security compliance frameworks Exposure to AI/ML and chatbot development
