JobSummaryResponsible for designing, implementing, and managing thedata architecture of the organization. Develops and maintains thedata infrastructure to align with business goals, industrystandards, and ensures efficient data management and analysis.
Collaborates with senior leadership, research, marketing & sales,architects, and developers to design, build, and deploy datawarehouse solutions and reporting tools to meet analyticalneeds.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Develop and execute data strategy aligned with organizationalobjectives by collaborating with stakeholders to understandbusiness goals. Define and document data architecture principles,standards, and guidelines to ensure efficient data management. Design, create, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physicaldata models to meet business requirements including data modeling,governance, warehouse aggregation, and BI tooling. Develop andmanage an enterprise-wide data dictionary and metadata repositoryefficiently to support diverse data needs across our cutting-edgedata platform. Evaluate, select, implement, and manage database technologiesbased on performance, scalability, and business needs. Stayinformed about emerging technologies, tools, and trends in dataarchitecture to enhance platform scalability, resilience, andreliability, and collaborate across the team to implementinnovative solutions. Design, implement, and maintain data integration processes,including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, to ensureseamless data flow between systems. Establish and enforce datagovernance policies and procedures, define data quality standards,monitor adherence, provide training on data architecture bestpractices. Create and maintain documentation for data architectureand related processes. Implement and enforce data security measures to protectsensitive information. Ensure compliance with data privacyregulations and industry standards. Optimize database performance to ensure efficient data accessand processing, utilizing exploratory analytics and data mining todrive innovative data utilization strategies. Troubleshoot andresolve data-related performance issues to maintain optimal systemfunctionality. Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams,including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, todesign scalable systems. Effectively communicate complex technicalconcepts to non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding andalignment.
Nature and Scope Collaborates and consults with executives on complex andmulti-dimensional business matters. Evaluates novel problems todetermine solutions characterized by technical depth and breadthand the understanding of industry and business dynamics. Decisionsand guidance at this level produce high risk and high impactactions that change the strategic course of the business. Influences business decisions made by leadership. Recommendsoperational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
Acts as a strategic advisor to top management. Typically operateswith broad latitude in a complex environment. Provides technical training to others as needed at all levelsof the organization. Mentors staff and advises management on keytechnical strategies. This position does not have supervisory ormanagement responsibilities.
Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditionswould be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position andthere is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasionsthere may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of thetime.
Education and Experience Typically requires a PhD degree and 15+ years of specializedexperience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 10+ years ofexperience in a related field. Maintains a deep level of technicalexpertise that drives business and executive decisions.
PreferredQualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, ora related field. 10+ years proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similarrole

5+ years of experience with cloud data technologies includingAzure, Snowflake, AWS, Apache Airflow

REQUIRED.
Must have a track record of building solid and effectiveworking relationships and trust of IT leaders. Strong knowledge of database management systems and dataintegration technologies. Experienced in one or more automation andscheduling tools (for example Redwood, Airflow, etc.) Experience with programming languages
- SQL, Python, and AWSGlue.
Deep understanding of API connectivity and data streamingarchitecture. This person will sit on the Architecture Tech Review Board witha focus on data and how it fits in our overall architecture.
