Our challenge We are seeking a highly experienced and capable Platform Engineering & Architecture Lead to design, engineer, and govern scalable, secure, and resilient platform architecture that ensures engineering and operational excellence. We aim to support the evolving needs of the business through reusable patterns, automation, and adherence to architectural best practices. Additional Information• The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alpharetta, GA is $115k – $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and govern the infrastructure platform catalog, ensuring it aligns with organizational needs and standards.
Enforce architectural patterns, guidelines, and security standards across the platform.
Design resiliency frameworks, fault tolerance strategies, and define failure domain boundaries.
Collaborate with the CPS core Engineering team to develop innovative infrastructure solutions.
Leverage and coordinate with the SRE organization embedded within application teams to scale platform capabilities and ensure reliability.
Stay ahead of technological trends and prepare for upcoming impactful deliverables (more details to be shared).

Requirements:

10+ years of experience as a Platform Engineering Architect.

Platform Architecture & Engineering Practices:
Host Platforms:

 Webfarm, Treadmill, MKS.

Compute:

 Virtual Machines (VMs), Containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Serverless architectures.

Storage:

 Object Storage, File Storage.

Databases:

 SQL, NoSQL, Time Series databases.

Messaging Systems:

 Kafka, MQ.

Observability:

 Logs, Metrics, Distributed Traces.

Security:

 Authentication mechanisms, Secrets management, Audit trails.

Networking:

 Ingress controllers, Service Mesh architectures, DNS configuration. Preferred, but not required: Experienced in designing large-scale, cloud-native platform architectures.
Strong background in infrastructure automation and governance.
Skilled in various compute, storage, and database technologies.
Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams including SRE, security, and development.
Passionate about continuous improvement and staying updated on emerging tech trends.
