The Sr Systems Architect – Supply Chain is responsible fordesigning and implementing solutions within Network Supply Chainand Device Supply Chain Planning domains. Network Supply Chainsupports fulfilling demands at 70K+ cell sites whereas DeviceSupply Chain Planning forecasts demand and replenish at 7600+retail locations as well as non-retail locations. This individualwill work with Technical Product Owners/Managers, Developers, andBusiness Users. While this position includes hands-on architectureand engineering work, it also focuses a majority of the time ontechnical leadership, which includes driving the vision, proposingthe optimal solution, coaching engineers, documenting and evolvingcoding standards and best practices, performing data modeling,participating in advanced troubleshooting of production andpre-production systems, and authoring frameworks and utilities toimprove the efficiency of supply chain team members. They owncreation and documentation of roadmaps and actively participate andcollaborate on architectural, technological and infrastructuraldiscussions for both current ecosystem and short-term futurestrategy. Job Responsibilities:
Compile, develop, and deliver architectural guardrails;influence stakeholders and ensure compliance with architecturalguardrails within many technology domains that support the needs ofproject teams to reliably launch Supply Chain enhancements. Lead the architecture and design of on-premises supply chainsystems with SAP infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration withcloud-native microservices. Collaborate with internal teams to define the technicalstrategy for SAP systems, cloud-native services, and microservicesarchitecture in the context of supply chain management. Design hybrid architectures that integrate on-premises SAPsystems (e.g., SAP
ECC, OER, HANA
) with cloud-native microservicesusing API management, containers. Guide the migration strategy for integrating on-premises SAPinfrastructure with cloud-based solutions, enabling enhanced supplychain agility and scalability. Manage and optimize the on-premises’ infrastructure (servers,databases, storage, and network) while coordinating cloud-nativearchitectures that allow for digital transformation. Ensure end-to-end system integration, focusing on SAP’sinteractions with other supply chain applications (e.g., WMS,TMS). Draft and implement development processes, management plans andcontract deliverable schedules (baselines), operationaltroubleshooting and training Mentor team members on best practices within your area ofexpertise, encouraging a deeper understanding of enterprise-wideobjectives. Provide mentorship and coaching to architects and otherteam members, while identifying and recommending trainingopportunities to strengthen the team’s overall capabilities. Serve as a subject matter expert to guide technology strategyby convincing decision makers across multiple domains and workingwith Architects in each domain. Work with business teams and technical analysts to understandbusiness requirements. Determine how to use technology to createsolutions that satisfy the business requirements. Serve as a technical resource for business teams to helpdefine, estimate and recommend optimized solutions for businessopportunities. Provide critical architectural inputs during RFI and RFPprocess. Determine and validate potential data sources, build validationplan, assisting with or building scripts, executing the scripts,and communicating results in non-production environment Build architecture and technical design documents tocommunicate solutions that will be implemented by the developmentteam. Build High Level Solution Design (HLSD) in support ofEnterprise Projects and present HLSD to senior leadership duringCapital Assessment reviews. Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to help illustrateapproaches to technology and business problems. Prepare visual diagrams of system architecture, functionality,and process flows. Work with development, infrastructure, test, and productionsupport teams to ensure accurate implementation of solution. Educate organization on available and emerging toolsets. Present solutions to clients, project teams, and otherstakeholders adapting style to both technical and non-technicalaudiences. Attention to detail, time management, work prioritization,multi-tasking, estimate tasks, timely deliverables and taskdelegation & follow up. Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree Technology 4-7+ years of experience with enterprise level database systemssuch as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server or others, emphasis onTeradata. Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) andcloud-native technologies such as microservices, containers(Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing. Knowledge and experience with enterprise architecture, SupplyChain Planning, Order Management, and Warehouse Logistics(Required) Knowledge and experience with messaging services, REST,GraphQL, API and File based interfaces. Familiarity with all programming languages includingJavaScript, Java, .Net, API Gateway, etc. and frameworks likeSpringboot, Angular, etc. Solid experience in system integration between on-premises SAPsystems and cloud-native microservices, including API-drivenarchitecture and middleware. Experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloudarchitectures, ensuring seamless interaction between cloud andon-premises environments. Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code(e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Proficient in networking, security protocols, virtualizationtechnologies, and database architecture (especially for SAP andcloud environments). Excellent understanding of supply chain management (SCM) andhow technology supports end-to-end business processes (orderfulfillment, procurement, logistics, etc.). Project management skills, including the ability to leadlarge-scale initiatives and effectively communicate withstakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the abilityto address complex technical challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to work withcross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts tonon-technical stakeholders.
