MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Enterprise Systems & DevOps Manager is responsible for: Leading and mentoring a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth. Overseeing the DevOps lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance. Fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Managing multiple DevOps initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Identifying, evaluating, and managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers. Negotiating contracts, monitor vendor performance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborating with vendors to integrate their solutions into our software products and services. Conducting business analysis to understand and document requirements, processes, and workflows. Translating business needs into technical specifications and ensure alignment with development goals. Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and make data-driven decisions to improve software products. Contributing to the design, development and adoption of digital solutions globally across Birdon’s operational business units. Contributing to the analysis, mitigation and control of cyber-security threats, risks and incidents. Contributing to the design, deployment, maintenance and improvement of Birdon’s Digital and ICT systems and services. Proactively promote quality, environmental responsibility & safety within the workplace, encouraging an outcome of Birdon being a place of work by choice. QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of managing DevOps initiatives and leading development teams. An undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science (or related / relevant field). Strong project management and DevOps skills with certification in Agile methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret technical data, complex business, and customer requirements. Strong technical skills in software development, including proficiency in Microsoft PowerApps, LogicApps, Fabric and associated development frameworks. In-depth Knowledge and experience with ERP, MRP, Supply Chain, Finance and Corporate systems. Experience in business analysis, vendor management and contract negotiation. Desirable, experience in manufacturing or defence industries. Desirable, knowledge and experience with PDM, PLM and other product engineering systems. Strong negotiating skills with both legal, financial, and commercial issues. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the business.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Domestic travel will be a requirement for the role on a semi-regular basis. Position occasionally requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment where dust, fume and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise levels exist.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Enterprise Systems and DevOps Manager will be based in New Orleans, LA and report directly to the Manager, Digital & IT Strategy. Birdon Directors, President, and advisors may provide additional direction and duties from time to time. Your communication and direct contact with Birdon clients are an important aspect of this position. It is your responsibility to ensure that Birdon’s values and interests are maintained during your relationship with clients, subcontractors, visitors, suppliers, and employees.
