Currently, they are looking to expand their team by bringing on a Platform Automation Engineer.
SALARY/HOURLY RATE
$60/hr – $75/hr
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is looking for a Platform Automation Engineer to join a dynamic infrastructure and automation team on a contract basis (3-6 months, with potential extensions or conversion). In this role, you’ll support and optimize key systems that drive secure file transfers, workflow automation, and cloud-based operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PLATFORM AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Support and maintain secure file transmission systems using tools like Secure Transport or equivalent.
Build and refine job scheduling logic in automation tools to streamline operational workflows.
Write and maintain scripts (Python, Perl, etc.) to automate repetitive system tasks and improve reliability.
Help manage internal file transfer platforms and proactively address operational issues.
Assist in deploying infrastructure within cloud environments (Azure, AWS) to support internal applications.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE PLATFORM AUTOMATION ENGINEER
2 – 5 years of professional experience in systems or platform engineering.
Solid experience with scripting in UNIX or Windows environments.
Practical understanding of file transfer protocols and tools.
Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE PLATFORM AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Familiarity with
Secure Transport, HCL Workload Automation, or Connect:
Direct.
Experience with public cloud services (Azure or AWS is preferred).
Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.
Certifications in scripting, cloud infrastructure, automation, or cybersecurity.
Background in financial services or highly regulated environments is a plus.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience
