Platform Engineer

POSITIONDESCRIPTION

Takeda Pharmaceuticals America, Inc. is seeking aPlatform Engineer with the following duties: Build and maintainplatform capabilities using selected products and services toenhance manufacturing efficiency and data quality; Design anddevelop core infrastructure components such as networking, storage,and compute resources to support platform functionality; Write andsupport code for user authentication, database management, andinfrastructure as code to ensure scalability; Collaborate withapplication and product development teams to optimize platformperformance for application workloads; Develop and maintain a fullstack developer platform, offering standardized and reusable toolsand services for engineering teams; Implement Quality by Designprinciples to ensure platform reliability, availability, andsecurity; Enable data analytics capabilities, including real-timeand predictive analytics, in a GxP environment; Drive technicalissue identification and problem-solving, escalating as necessaryto ensure timely resolution; Ensure adherence to company policiesand documentation standards in alignment with Takeda QualityManagement Systems; Support the DevOps strategy to create aself-service platform with automated infrastructure and operations,enhancing developer experience; Define and measure quality aspectsof the platform, setting appropriate targets in collaboration withplatform management and SRE teams; up to 10% international anddomestic travel required; up to 60% remote work allowed.

REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in Computer Science, InformationManagement, Analytics or related field plus 5 years of relatedexperience.

Prior experience must include:

Enable data analyticscapabilities, including real-time and predictive analytics, in aGxP environment; Collaborate with application and productdevelopment teams to optimize platform performance for applicationworkloads; Drive technical issue identification andproblem-solving, root cause analysis as necessary to ensure timelyresolution; Design and develop core infrastructure components suchas networking, database storage, and compute resources to supportplatform functionality; Implement Quality by Design principles toensure application reliability, availability and security.
