Platform Engineer Data Center Migration (Windows & Linux)

Skills:

large-scale server migrations/data center transitions, Windows server administration, Linux Distribution, Server build, Patching, monitoring, performance tuning, data center environment (physical/virtual handling), ticketing systems (service now, JIRA), PowerShell scripting, Bash/SSH scripting, Automation tool (Ansible or similar), basic knowledge in firewall rules, ports and OS-level security, Basic knowledge in Cloud platform (Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in migration planning, execution, and support for Windows and Linux servers.
Perform OS-level configuration, application deployment, and release tasks across environments.
Work with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to manage incident, change, and service requests.
Maintain and update system documentation, runbooks, and configuration inventories.
Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and SSH.
Perform pre- and post-migration system validation, troubleshooting, and rollback handling.
Collaborate with network, application, and cloud teams to ensure smooth server transitions.
Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and governance policies during migrations.
